Ela Skorska is a multi-disciplinary visual artist working predominantly with analogue photography, Super 8, sculpture and painting.
After spending a few years hitchhiking around Europe and living between France and England, she settled in the UK. Currently based in the Peak District, she is a graduate of BA Photography at Manchester School of Art. As part of an Exchange Program, she studied Fine Arts for a year at UCLM in Cuenca, Spain, which resulted in her developing a versatile practice as a consequence of cultivating a passion for Fine Arts, film art, and experimental cinema.
Her work explores the interplay of light and shadow, within the urban environment. Created through a meditative exploration of her surroundings, she focuses on the overlooked beauty, abstraction, and geometrical shapes formed through collaboration with chance.
The City, with its structures, plays a significant role in her work, delivering an ever-inspiring playground for exploration and creativity expressed through a brutalist perspective rooted in her upbringing in Poland.
Ela displayed her work in group exhibitions in the UK, France and Spain.
