Freedom and absence

Everyday routine, a little pill that transformed everything for women, I understand it’s controversial and obviously far from perfect to be ingesting hormones every day of my life, but this is not what I want to discuss. I want to talk about how the absence of life that could exist is the source of my personal freedom and equips me with the privilege to make choices.

Generally, absence has a somewhat negative undertone. In my circumstances, the vacancy that the contraceptive pill grants me is a very positive one, representing the power and a right to make my own decisions. Because of it, my life is in my own hands, and I am free to do whatever I desire. I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to be born in times and live in a country that provides this option and respects women’s choices.

I am absolutely not against motherhood. I think it’s sacred, but so is every individual’s choice to live their life the way they aspire. I believe that the absence of life I could give makes the life I
choose, with all the potential, opportunities, and prospects.
