It is just getting more and more engaging. I spent some time conceptualizing the project, focusing on thinking outside the box. Nonetheless, it is hard not to see the obvious right in front of you. I strive for originality, as I imagine any artist does, but this made me think. There must be some magic in straightforwardness. Furthermore, if everyone holds the same belief, then we are all missing out on the magnitude of the apparent. Consequently, I considered some peculiar ideas while not disregarding the conventional ones. I am thrilled to see where it will take me.
I watched Youtube videos about Marco Breuer and my ultimate inspiration Daido Moriyama (the practitioner of Wabi-sabi esthetics, which correlates to the Summer Project). I found them incredibly inspiring and fascinating.
I examined several more artists: Cornelia Parker, Rachel Whitehead, Louise Short, Tome Lovelace, Uta Barth, Jaroslav Rossler, Aaron Siskind, and Pierre Cordier. It was an absolutely stimulating experience, and I am confident I will revisit some of them on numerous occasions.
Moreover, I studied books I have at home, ‘Art photography now’ by Susan Bright, Daido Moriyama Tate release, and ‘The Photograph’ by Graham Clarke.
I discussed a few ideas with my tutor, and we analyzed together, recognizing the materials I own.
From this conversation, I came back with unusual concepts and will endeavor my first luminograms.
